Position Title: Warehouse Associate
Department: Warehouse Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
Employment Type: Part-time (M-F 8am-12pm) / On-Site in Warehouse Environment
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the warehouse by assisting in receiving, storing, and distributing products. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with other team members to ensure the efficient and accurate movement of goods, and meeting company standards for quality and safety.
This Warehouse Associate is responsible for hand building pallets of product for truck load (TL), Less than truckload (LTL) shipments, and customer pickups. The Warehouse Associate will work from electronic order system or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or pallet jack. Position is responsible for accuracy in loading and complying with shipper/receiver documentation and will follow warehouse instructions in building loads. This position may be required to work across a wide variety of weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Storing Goods – Unload incoming shipments, inspect items for damage or discrepancies, and store products in the appropriate locations. Ensure all products are labeled correctly and properly organized.
Inventory Management:
Track inventory levels, perform regular cycle counts, and report any discrepancies to management. Assist with the organization and retrieval of stock for both internal and customer orders.
Order Picking and Packing:
Accurately pick and pack customer orders based on order slips or system-generated lists. Ensure items are correctly packed, labeled, and ready for shipment.
Shipping and Delivery:
Prepare and load outgoing shipments, ensuring all goods are accounted for and shipped in a timely manner. Verify the accuracy of shipping addresses and order details.
Safety and Cleanliness:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Regularly clean and organize warehouse areas to ensure efficiency and comply with safety regulations.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to transport goods within the warehouse.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned by the warehouse manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
– Previous warehouse or logistics experience is a plus,but not required.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to read and understand order forms, shipping labels, and safety instructions.
– Basic math skills for inventory and order counting.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Strong communication skills.
– Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (occasionally may require lifting heavier items with assistance).
– Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
– Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely (training will be provided).
Working Conditions:
– Work in a warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels.
– Exposure to various temperatures.
– This work involves heavy lifting, extended periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
– Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., RF scanners, Knowledge of SAP).
– Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and OSHA regulations.
